1. I went from “No Man’s Sky is tedious,” to “Animal Crossing is cozy, tedious, also dystopian,” to Pokopia:

“Minecraft + Animal Crossing + Pokemon, but a post-apocalyptic tale of ecological collapse.”

You spend your days being nice to Pokemon, making things, and wondering where all the humans went.

  2. When my boss is trying to wrap up a 1:1 and asks if there’s anything else, I’m going to do my HAL impersonation and say, “one decision is genuinely yours.”

  3. Well, huzzah. Apparently the X-Pro3 just needed to sit with a fresh main battery for a day. It retained all its settings without a main battery overnight.

  4. I decided to spring for the Swytch locking battery mount. A little snug with the foldylock, but it all fits and I don’t have to carry the battery around for grocery runs.

  5. Nooope. The local guys don’t do digital cameras. So more sourcing or $600-$800. Considered the used route but apparently the X-Pro3 is a cult item owing to its “no chimping” rear display. Love a hipster camera, pay hipster prices.

  6. As an old leftist I have plenty of time for “young leftists have figured out that getting & holding power requires more than language policing & demands to be kind.” With that has come an unapologetic smashmouth swagger.

But also this is like living in the timeline where Twitter acquired Congress.
