Mutual of Omaha’s MIME Kingdom ๐
I was feeling very accomplished with my whole “make HTML stuff open in mutt good” thing until suddenly it didn’t work with Chrome when I tried it on another machine. Oh, right … Chrome’s on a Flatpak on this one, so when it says “/tmp/some-lengthy-attachment-name-as-a-hash.html doesn’t exist, what are you on about,” it actually means “I can’t see this because I am in a Flatpak sandbox.”
Flatseal lets you do something about that. I added /tmp to the things Chrome can touch and that got it unstuck.
Why is Chrome even on a Flatpak on this one? I don’t know. I set these machines up about three months apart from each other. Sunspots, I guess. I just went ahead and uninstalled it, installed Fedora’s packaged version, and pointed my custom profile .desktop files at the google-chrome binary. Upside: The UI fonts look better now.
Braus ๐
Also in the “open links in a browser of your choice” sweepstakes is the unmaintained braus, which has the benefit of working more reliably than either browsers or Junction in some circumstances. Go figure.
Issues: Tiny, unreadable font. No icon (a small thing, but there it is).
I forked it, made the fonts 1em/1rem, and linked to a browseresque icon already on the platter for the .desktop file.
I should go file bug reports on the other two: I use them, they’re actively maintained, and them’s the rules.
Back in ox-hugo ๐
I’ve been using ox-hugo the past several days. It’s comfortable.
